All-in-one platform for textile brands of the future

Our Mission

The textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world, with billion tonnes of GHG  emissions every year and a massive impact on the health and safety of farmers and textile workers. We are here to get to the root of the problem.

Founded in 2022, altromondo aims to improve the socio-ecological impact of fashion with holistic sustainable solutions.

Our story

altromondo is Italian for  ‘another world’ ----- as we strive to create a world that’s sustainable, future-friendly and ahead of the zeitgeist.

A world where we treat the planet and people with fairness and kindness. A world we build today, for tomorrow.

A platform for textile brands of the future, we are committed to producing for brands that like to stay ahead of the curve (and by curve, we mean imminent industry regulations). Building a network of factories that are committed to our mission and that share similar core values as us, we aim to create a collaborative space where brands, suppliers, factories, and workers can all come together for a more just industry and planet.

Our core values

Earth, Water, Fire - These three elements drive our core foundational values

Balance & Transparency

Water signifies stability and transparency. We aim to embody the nature of water in our approach towards sustainability.

Design & Transformation

Fire drives our passion for design and transformation as it represents our vision to change the textile ecosystem from within.

Future Friendly

Earth represents - 'another world' where we build a more future - friendly planet with sustainable materials and durable products.

The Team

Nilanjana Paul
Founder

Having worked as a Product Manager with Fairly Made - a sustainable manufacturing and impact measurement start-up in Paris, that recently got a funding of $5 million from ETF, London, she learnt the ropes of sustainable production and traceability of supply chains.

She was involved in building relationships with factories in India adhering to strict social and environmental guidelines and realised there is a gap for an agency similar to Fairly Made in the country. Given there is an influx of both western and homegrown brands and their limited access to production supply chains, it remains unregulated giving leeway to a massive impact on the environment and workers.

Prior to the pandemic, she returned to her roots in India to build altromondo, for where the textile industry is inevitably headed.
